Churchill’s £7,500 donation to Oakhaven Hospice in memory of colleague Geoff

Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington received a welcome donation from Churchill Retirement Living in memory of colleague Geoff Southwell, a popular member of the housebuilder’s Plant Services team who sadly died last year after a brave battle with cancer. Geoff’s brothers Pete and Mike took part in the presentation at Churchill’s new Knights Lodge development in Lymington, along with Churchill’s Plant Services Operations Manager Mark Church.

The cheque comprised a £5,000 donation from Churchill’s own charity, the Churchill Foundation, as well as £2,500 raised by close colleague Nicola Willis, who set up a justgiving page to encourage donations in Geoff’s memory. The combined total of £7,500 will go directly to the hospice, where he was exceptionally well cared for during his illness.

Churchill’s Plant Services Operations Manager Mark Church said: “The team and I are very proud to have made this donation to Oakhaven Hospice in Geoff’s memory. I’d like to personally thank the Churchill Foundation and everyone who contributed through Nicola’s justgiving page. Geoff was an integral member of our Plant Services team, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. He is greatly missed not only by members of his immediate team but throughout the company and by our external suppliers.
