Churchill Foundation Charity Golf Tournament raises over £50,000
The return of the Churchill Foundation Golf Tournament has raised over £50,000 for charity. The event took place at the renowned PGA course at Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in Wiltshire on Thursday 5th October, with 17 teams battling it out to be crowned this year’s champions.
The winning foursome was Captained by Robert Stevenson from RMS Property Maintenance. Other prizes up for grabs included a ‘Play the Pro’ hole with professional golfer Harry Brewis, and a ‘Nearest the Pin’ competition, as well as a number of further spot prizes and a raffle.
Guests later enjoyed a Prize-giving lunch in the Golf club’s Kerry Suite, and took part in a charity auction bidding for a range of ‘money can’t buy’ items and experiences to boost the fundraising total for the day.
The impressive total will go towards the Churchill Foundation, our own registered charity which enables Churchill to support the many local communities where we work, and give to a wide range of charities based on three core aims: the relief of sickness, disease and human suffering; the promotion of health amongst the elderly; and the support and wellbeing of the young.
Clinton McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Group Co-Founder and Trustee of the Churchill Foundation, said:
“This is our third Churchill Foundation Golf Tournament, which plays a big part in our fundraising for the year, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the event so generously and helped to make it such a success. The money raised will make a big difference to the many charities we support across the country through the Foundation.
“I’d like to add a special thank you to our headline sponsor Moore Barlow LLP. We are hugely grateful for the support from all our other sponsors Appello Group and Sentinel Fire and Security Solutions, and to all those who took part in the day.”
